Tamara Harutyunyan
Tamara
started to draw in her early childhood. Being at school she
preferred to spend most of her time drawing and listening
to the music.
In 1983 Tamara decided to devote herself to the Arts and
entered the Art College in Yerevan, Armenia. The years in
college were full of interesting and serious work. Among the
traditional and academic study of oil painting, graphic and
watercolour painting Tamara learned various techniques of
Decorative Art such as mosaics, murals, stained glass and
more..
After graduating with honours Tamara decided to continue
her education and in 1987 she entered the Academy of Art in
Yerevan. During her studies in the Academy Tamara participated
in numerous exhibitions in galleries and museums.
After receiving a Diploma of Fine Arts from The Academy Tamara
received an offered to teach Art History at a private school.
In 1993 she decided to take up a new challenge and found work
as an interior designer. Her design projects included interiors
for cafes, restaurants, private offices, houses and apartments.
In 1994 Tamara moved to St. Petersburg, Russia to attend
the Industrial Academy of Art and continued her studies in
the department of Interior Design. While studying in St Petersburg
from 1994 to 1996 she took the opportunity to participate
in numerous exhibitions at galleries in St. Petersburg.
In 1996 after graduating from the Industrial Art Academy
Tamara returned to Armenia. New challenges awaited her in
Yerevan where she increased her practical artistic knowledge
and work experience designing stained glass windows, murals,
jewellery, furniture and perfected her techniques for painting
on glass, porcelain and silk. As always Tamara's passion for
painting continued and she produced many oil paintings and
watercolour works that she exhibited in Yerevan galleries.
In 2003 Tamara moved to Canada with her daughter. Here she
continues to expand her passion for art and is now able to
share her skills and experience teaching art at three private
schools in Etobicoke, Richmondhill, Green Hill Village Academy
(http://www.greenhillvillage.ca/index.php?page_id=41) and
Discovery Academy. In her spare time Tamara offers private
lessons to young and old at her studio.
Tamara has been a member of the Union of Artists ( Russia)
and has participated at several exhibitions in Toronto. Her
works can be found in private collections of different countries
of the world . |
